課程概述

Continuing from OTII (1), this course focuses on speaking skills for various occasions (such as public speech and social talks), communication (assertiveness and body language), and language tests (mainly TOEFL ibt speaking). Most activities are task- and context-based, designed for both individuals and groups. Materials are selected from an extensive array of subjects in order to help students immerse themselves in a wider range of contexts. The atmosphere in the classroom is expected to be relaxing yet intellectually stimulating, which allows students to develop communicative skills with less stress and more pleasure in the learning process. 

課程目標
The course aims to prepare students for more advanced speaking skills, in particularly those required for language tests, academic study, and formal/social occasions. It is hoped that students who finished the course will be confident and capable of speaking sophisticatedly and extensively about various topics on formal occasions. They should also be able to communicate more effectively with English speakers for academic purposes. 
課程要求
Strict attendance policy applies since students’ participation is crucial in this course. Students who are absent (i.e. no-show without advanced notices to the instructor) for more than 10 hours in this semester will be flunked (max. 59 points). Students who are present in all classes get ONE extra points, which will be added to their final scores.
